Five UK-based winners from underrepresented backgrounds will be awarded £20,000 in funding for their creative projects. All artistry is welcome: whether you are a musician, content creator, poet or playwright, Chelsea and VERSUS want you to bring the story of Chelsea and our community to light.
The Blue Creator Fund was created to disrupt the state of play, redefine the status quo and diversify football off the pitch.
Chelsea is a hub for creativity. But the playing field is not level for creatives: in London, the odds of working in the creative industry are halved for those from minority backgrounds.
The BCF was established as part of Chelsea’s No To Hate campaign, which works to break down barriers to change the culture of the game.
Each winner will get £20,000 to share their creativity with the world, as well as across Chelsea and VERSUS’ platforms.
Working closely with Chelsea and VERSUS, winners will have insider access to the world of football to make their projects truly special.
Winners will also have the unparalleled opportunity to display their work in a weekend exhibition at the iconic Saatchi Gallery in March 2025, attended by both football and London’s leading creatives.
“Chelsea is at the heart of London’s culture. We are proud and excited to continue promoting fan voices and the next generation of creatives through the Blue Creator Fund and with the vital support of Nicholas and our creative mentors, all of whom are testament to the burgeoning creativity of Chelsea and London.
“The Blue Creator Fund is just one example of synergy between the Club and Foundation in engaging with our community to ensure that football is not just diverse on the pitch, but off it, too. We are so honoured to be partnering with the iconic Saatchi Gallery to showcase the projects of our five winners - a West London institution whose values, and support for emerging artists and young talent, align so closely to our own.”
